View Full Version : Is Blog and Ping still viable?

I'm just getting started with AdSense based sites and I've bought Blogging Equalizer. I understand this program gets your site listed with Google much faster than any other way.
My question is, is using this type of technology still viable, or is Google going to get upset about it? I've been browsing the posts on this forum and I'm getting paranoid about having Google cancel my account before I can make any money!
Any comments, Joel? Or anybody?
Thanks!

In future, I'd advise you to do the research and ask the questions before you buy the product.
But yes, B=P does work provided you're sensible. Google can close your Blogger blog if it doesn't like it so use WordPress (available for free through your Fantastico on cPanel - if you don't have cPanel, change your host)
No idea about your software but the best one is RSS2Blog Pro

About a year ago, Blog and Ping was effective but right now
it is no longer what it used to be. If you set up a blog at
Blogger.com which Google owns then blog and ping from
it, there is a chance that Google will close your blogger
account, ban your site and ultimately close your adsense
account.
There are now many softwares on Blog and Ping, so many
ebooks sold about Blog and Ping and even ebooks given
away for free. For me, that is an indicator that a tool
that is once effective is already loosing its effectiveness.
Don't try risking your adsense account to be banned.
If you really want your site to be indexed fast, get a
PR 7 site to link to you and your site will be indexed
in 1 to 3 days. Keep up on building your links because
ultimately that is what will get you to rank high on
the search engines.

As far as I can tell this software won't work any more - at least until its updated. It uses solely blogger.com to auto submit blogs to, and blogger has now required that you enter the graphics code before it will allow a new blog entry.
Up until now I had found it did work with my yahoo to get sites indexed in yahoo and google very quickly.
Now I'm wondering about alternatives. The RSS to blog looks good but quite expensive. However if it can't be scuppered by one simple change on blogger it could be worth it.
Has anyone used blogburner from Rick Butts?

I use Blog-Power - it still works well but don't overdo it. It uses the blogger api and works fine. I don't any longer use the features it has to collect other rss content and post that with links back to my pages. I manually add extracts from my own content and set BP to release them to my blogs every day or so automatically.
I have several blogs for each of my sites and until the jagger update came along google had backlinks to lots of my deeper pages from the high ranking blogs. Now I show nothing and wonder if duplicate content might be to blame, although I only posted more than a few lines of an article on about 10 occasions.

Thanks for all your input folks. Wow, now I know how much of a newbie I really am because I don't understand half of what you are all talking about! Not your fault though and I still appreciate your input. I just need to do some more studying!
Thanks again!

Flashni,
I was looking into buying RSS2Blog Pro, do you (or any others out there) have any view/experience on its 'Adsense revenue from your Blog' ability?
Cheers,

Hi everyone
I havnt got into blogging and pinging yet as i have been too busy learning other things.
I have made a blog just to experiment but that was a long time ago.
In your opinions is it worth going through the time it takes to learn this or do you think it is old news.
Thanks
Izzy Brewer
I started bloging and pinging some of my sites and in about 3 weeks I had 8 of 10 sites indexed by y with over 800 pages indexed and 4 of 10 indexed by g with about 150 pages indexed. So it still works for me ! :D

Yeah i also have heard of a few people having there blogger accounts banned because of excessive pinging.

I'm so new. I bought the BE and then I noticed my blogs had all this text written over it such as notify blogger for objectionable content. Does anyone know what happened exactly. I had to stop the program and delete everything and start all over.I want to get my money back if it doesn't work but so far no response. Does anyone have the same thing happen to them?

you can still use BE but only to blog and ping the home page and site map.
I have just bought RSS2Blog which submits post to a wordpress blog that you host yourself. Once set up it plods away day and night adding content to your blog and because you aren't using blogger, you are in control so your blog can't get disabled. I have set it up across about 15 sites so far but its too early for results.
