"A little off topic" What program and or service do you use to send out your member email's. We are looking at 'Verticle Response', Constant Contact and other online services, but perhaps you can suggest other solutions.

I'm not Joel, but I do have a recommendation. I admit, I'm not impartial because I'm promoting my own stuff here.

To send newsletters, why don't you consider using ListMessenger Pro. You have two options: running your own by going to http://listmessenger.com and buying a license, or using the hosted version of the same software, available at http://listmessenger.net.

It's ASP-based, if that matters, but I use and really like the Spd E-Letter Newsletter Management System http://pensaworks.com/prg_spd.asp.

Aweber for autoresponders

NetAtlantic for my newsletters

Is this a case of "don't put all your eggs in one basket" or is there another reason that you don't use one service for both autoresponders and newsletters?

I've had many of my lists with NetAtlantic for years. But when I needed to add autoresponders, I found Aweber to be a better choice. I see no reason to move the NetAtlantic lists as I pleased with their service.
