Google crawls sitemap.xml but nothing in search??

Hi.

Google has been crawling my sitemap and site for 10 days now after I submitted my xml sitemap to them using their recomendations and process.
Their sitemap console shows success daily, and the web stats show them up too.

However, nothing shows up when I search for my stuff, even a "site:xxxxx.com" search.

Seems a bit odd, since I have had success before with Yahoo (and thence google) within 24 hours on other sites.

Does anyone have any ideas, 'cos I'm fresh out.

Submitting a sitemap to Google only enhances spidering - no benefit as to indexing.

Hi

We had a new site up for about three weeks with a Google Sitemap and the pages are just now starting to appear in the search results. So they do get there!

I've yet to hear of a site getting indexed faster due to having one of those sitemaps. I don't bother with them.
