Thanks for the heads up on this one - I've already added it to a couple of my sites - will report in due course what I think of it compares to the statcounter I was using...

Thanks - most of us already have a web log analizer free from the host provider and without having to modify every page in our site for it.

I'd be curious what benefits this really provides above something like Webalizer.

It offers a few things that no host based stats can offer, like geoip reporting and 'conversion stats'. Plus it integrates with AdWords to enable advertisers to access additional reporting on the effectiveness of campaigns.

Hi all,

Just checking back re googles latest offering.

It took a while for the stats to show up, but I'm pretty impressed - there are those that say it lets google know too much about you - but if you've nothing to hide then there's no problem, is there?

Worth a try - easy to use - and it's free!!

I agree, it took some time before the first stats appeared, but the way they're presented and the wide variaty of reports is pretty impressive.

I do think that non-realtime reporting is a bit of a problem.

Over the last week, we've experienced extraordinarily high demand for Google Analytics, so much that we've had to disable new signups to ensure the best possible user experience for our customers. We are aware that some of our users have experienced a slow-down in seeing their reporting data due to the huge demand, and we're working hard to make report data as fresh and current as possible.
