We've had our site up, in one form or another for over 8 years. We added Adsense last year and while the site gets an acceptible level of traffic (around 60,000 page views per week), the ads the site is pulling, leaves a lot to be desired.
We have several other more focused sites where the ads are paying several dollars each but no matter what I do the ads on this site never pay more than like 50 cents, with the norm being .03 - .25 each.

Is there anything someone can point out that we could be doing better, in order to pull higher paying ads?
I turned one article into a 5 page article the other day and noticed that I immediately started pulling better, more content sensitive ads but most of the articles don't lend themselves to being broken apart in this manner.
