I have so far submitted 3 of my online communities to Chatika for inclusion to the eMiniMalls program and none have been approved. One is more service and support oriented so that did not surprise me but the one I have for remote control helicopters did as well as another for Personal Watercraft..

Has anyone else that has an online community that isn't based on consumer electronics had success in being approved?

Thanks,
David

It would help if you gave us your links so we can look for problems.

I couldn't see why that would be a problem...

unless they want you to have another site other than a blog.

I have a blog but the site I submitted was not a blog and more content
oriented. From there, I think, like AdSense, you can put it on other sites.

You might try that. Create a good content site, rather than a blog, and
resubmit.

Did they tell you why you were rejected, or did you ask them why?

Excuse me, I said blog cuz I have blog on the brain. I meant forum.

Neither of those sites are blogs - they are online communities like AdsenseChat. Blogs and communities are the hot thing right now and adsense has taken to them in a big way.

They did not give me specific reasons on any of the submissions. Here is what they sent:

Thank you for your online submission. We reviewed your website: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and your application for eMiniMalls Paid Listings service cannot be accepted at this time.

Here is a list of possible reasons:
- Incomplete application. For example: missing website, monthly impressions, unconfirmed email, etc.
- Unable to confirm that you are the owner of the website. (we recommend that either the email address or the whois info match the domain)
- Website may not be suitable for merchandising.
- Non-English content.
- Adult language or content.

Thank you for your interest in eMiniMalls.

Regards,
Chitika Customer Service

The only thing that I can think of is that my sites are not (In their opinion) "suitable for merchandising". They all pass their TOS.

I suppose they may not have any advertisers available for the main topic, however on many of my forums (some not listed) we have a huge "off-topic" section that covers a very wide variety of things.. Google Adsense really works well in them.. Maybe Chatika is being fickle.?

Yes, I will try them again on other sites but I am curious who else may have been denied and why. One of my forums does in excess of 9 million page views a month. Rotoroworks does about 250k, which isn't that high for a forum but it is one of my smaller ones.. I'd be curious to know what they prefer.

Thanks,
David

Someone on this board said they heard back within hours. If memory serves, this was back in August when Chitika was less well known. What's the current review time?

I have waited a few days; now I'm wondering if my email filters nixed their response incorrectly identifying it as spam. (That already happened once with my Adsense app!)

It took me 1 week and 2 days.

My average time after getting the automated email asking if I did indeed submit the site was about 2 working days. Make sure that you click on the link in the email from Chatika stating it was you who submitted it. If you didn't get one then submit again and check your email filters.
