The reviews are coming in about ContextCASH! I told you about this program last week. It allows you to make affiliate links of any keywords on your site.. .well, that and more.

Go read about it here.

http://www.adsense-secrets.com/michelfortin.html

I have been out of town and haven't had a bunch of time to test, but I've got several friends who are using it and they LOVE it! They are picking up on sales they weren't getting before and it isn't affecting their AdSense negatively at all. So I am looking forward to playing with it some more. In the meantime, I'd love to hear your opinion. Seems like a no-brainer to me.

Especially in light of my recent negative feedback about Chitika, I don't want to sound like a naysayer. Like everyone else, I am seeking good, high-quality opportunities to monetize my sites.

That being said, when I signed up for ContextCash and got to see it from the inside, my initial reaction was one of disappointment. I wasn't quite sure what to expect...and part of what I was hoping for was something that could be very easily implemented and provide keyword-based links on a number of my sites. Rather, what I discovered was something that required a fair amount of setup to work at all. There is no default or "auto-pilot" function, so to speak...unlike Chitika's 4 default products, which, while not desirable, at least allow you to get up and running quickly. Links still have to be created manually (in effect) and you have to decide which ones to approve and implement, based on which keyword.

On the plus side, I did like the fact that it does a lot of the search work for you thru Clickbank's products. That part was impressive...and it would be hard to duplicate manually on my own power.

Same goes for Amazon. It can help you find things...but you still have to decide what keywords you want them to apply for. I'm not sure this is as helpful as the Clickbank function...as Amazon links have always been pretty easy to create. But this still requires a lot of maintenance to keep product offerings current...not something I'm likely to do.

So...in light of the lack of some sort of "default" function (where you can just put in your affiliate IDs for Clickbank and Amazon, and it just finds products for you based on keywords and automatically "lights up" the keywords on your pages, and you can switch off ones you don't want to recomend), it's probably not something I will stick with long-term. Chitika pretty much requires you to put in your preferred keywords, but then...it does most of the work by keeping the bestsellers for the category displayed. That's something that I really find lacking here.

One last thing: My impression is that it would light up every occurrence of a given keyword on a page...which I find insulting as a visitor to any web site.

It's a powerful program with a lot of potential...and I can see where it might work well for those with article-distribution sites or article-populated "content" sites... but, I still feel like it's a bit of a blunt tool for a user like me. And...it's pretty likely that if it worked the way I wish it did, it would probably no longer be compatible with Adsense.

So, for me...for now, it's a mixed bag. I still haven't seen how it will apply in a real helpful way in my situation.

Joel your referral link isn't working. I get redirected to:

...which is a dead link. Maybe just post a real url?

is it www.contextcash.com?

Have to say, I really have my doubts about ContextCash...

I was all but sighed up when it hit me...

You will bill me $97 as the initial set-up fee, which includes the first month subscription, and $37 for each subsequent month thereafter and for as long as I wish to remain an active subscriber to ContextCASH. I can cancel anytime, and if so billing will cease.
I'm not saying it will or won't work, but the idea of being one of 1,000s of affilates paying them $37 makes me antsy. Sure they appear to be limiting it to the first few hundred, with a few thousand interested parties but I have to express nervousness if being first in the queue giving someone part of $100,000 for an untested beta product

Sorry, but given I can have intellitext for free, I have to be very wary of this, despite the nice sales pitch.

"Kontera for Clickbank" is what it sounded like to me at first, but reading that the sales copy calls it "stealth advertising" made me a bit uncomfortable (Tricksy Hobbitses!, a visitor to a site might say).

But yeah, not to jump on a particular bandwagon or anything, but it's kind of befuddling then to see that it's a monthly subscription service with a setup fee--made me feel even more that slight inkling I sometimes get that the best money to be made selling online ... is selling to people who want to make money selling online, or something like that.

Chuck,

Let me try to answer your very valid concerns one by one. Keep in mind that this is the "beta 0.5" version, where we are constantly adding and revamping features for the full 1.0 version.

On the plus side, I did like the fact that it does a lot of the search work for you thru Clickbank's products. That part was impressive...and it would be hard to duplicate manually on my own power.

That's right. Because we have actual paid staff populating the keywords and top-selling products right now. An update is in the works, and we also have much more to be added -- this took Sarah, our staff, 3 weeks to gather and properly set up (she also chooses/writes the keywords). We are going to be adding eBay, Commission Junction, Digital River and other affiliate networks to the system.

One last thing: My impression is that it would light up every occurrence of a given keyword on a page...which I find insulting as a visitor to any web site.

At first, we were limiting it to 3 instances of each keyword. But we're currently adding an extra feature, soon to be live, where a person can add his/her own number of instances. Even unlimited. If someone wants to limit the number of instances to, say, 5 times, then only the first 5 instances of a keywords appearing in the content will be linkified.

Plus, an added feature is, if you have 2-3 (or more) of the same keyword in your keywords list, but for different affiliate links, it will rotate them in order of appearance. Our reporting feature will soon hbave the ability to track URLs as well as keywords, thereby telling you which links had to highest clickthrough rates.

I hope this helps.

As for your concern, M9919, the subscription model is based on a number of things: adding of new features, upgrading the keyword and products lists, and paying for the staff to constantly survey and calculate the highest converting products to populate into the database.

Thanks for amplifying and pointing out some highlights of how the program works, Michel. I think I'm getting "long-single-page-sales-letter-with-XSitePro-layout-and-action-link-at-bottom" ad blindness and missed some of that the first time around.

I went back and re-read http://www.contextcash.com/sales.htm and understand the business / fee model now and found the program in action on your http://michelfortin.com/ blog. Apologies for responding before having absorbed all that.

It's been a long day, though, so I'm just going to go sleep on it for now, as I think my brain has reached the end of its broadcast day....

Thanks for the explanation, Michel. I wish the creators of other programs were as forthcoming with info regarding the state of their development as you.

I have decided to "hang with it" for awhile and see what comes of it. The concept seems quite sound...but, with 30 sites, I don't really have the time to go hand-pick products for all of them.

So, some sort of tweakable "default" operating mode would be really helpful.

Thanks again!

I have been looking at promoting this product to my large base of affiliates. Not for CB, but for all my product based affiliates to easily insert their affiliate links into their content sites. I think it looks like a very cool solution.

As Michael said, since it's an online web services solution it really needs to be a paid service - so they can keep it online and easily make upgrades. I think the price is very affordable for affiliates that really use it to it's advantage.
When I saw it in action on Shawn Collin's blog - it REALLY helped me see how it could be used in creative ways.

Can you say "Catch-22?"

Hello,

I signed up for Context Cash and have decided that it just doesn't work for me. While I think the technology is very cool, I don't think its appropriate for my websites. I have tried to reach the people running the website twice through their Contact Form, attempting to cancel the service. No one has contacted me.

I know they are watching this forum....can someone please contact me? efields@eclectech.com

Thank you.
