Just finished this site, I thought the Adsense Placement was good, but getting really crap CT.

Any suggestions - without putting a huge rectangle in the middle at the top

maybe change the google header colour from blue to the maroon colour of your site... might help?

I like it as is. I think differeciating your adsense links from regular links by using blue was a good move. Great Job.

Your site looks very good. My only suggestion for improvement would be to move your adverts on the right hand side up to the top and move the other stuff under it.

Keep up the good work.

Man you GOTTA change the AS titles from blue to that brownish color that the rest of your links are.. I think that will help quite a bit!

Although I don't agree with this, you should test.

I like the blue coloured ads myself - they stand out well. However, experimenting with different colours has got to be worthwhile.

The crap CTR might be due to the number of adblocks on the page. If they aren't all getting good clicks it may be worth dumping some. Use channels to find this out.

The changes that made the most difference to my earnings were:-

Position of banner. I have a large rectangle in the middle. It doesn't look too bad there, as I spent a lot of time experimenting with layouts. I would say that it does work a lot better than the other formats i've tried.

Blending the banner to fit the page design.

Number of banners. Removing one I had at the bottom of the page doubled the CTR, and that fed through to better cpc when Random Pricing (tm) (known to Goole as smart pricing) got round to realising the ctr had improved.
