I am really looking forward to attending the "1st Annual Internet Publishers Mardi Gras: Krewe of Profiteers!" (http://contentdesk.com/mardigras/) - there is a terrific lineup of speakers. Some that I know of that are scheduled are: Michael Fortin, Brad Fallon and Andy Jenkins, Stephen Pierce, Ryan Deiss, Dr. Mike Woo Ming, Keith Baxter, Carl Galletti, Mike Stewart, Nathan Anderson, with Kevin Harris, Mark Hendricks, Marc Goldman, Sylvie Charrier, Holly Cotter, Peter Lenkefi, William Frazier, Diana Barnum, Jack Humphrey... and possibly more. They have all promised to give lots of secrets! I am also looking forward to seeing New Orleans - this will be my first trip to the city. Sept. 9th thru Sept 11th.

I was just saying to my fiance the other day that I'd like to go back to New Orleans (we were there two years ago). I had wanted to go to the CJ conference in Santa Barbara in September, but that didn't work out because the timing conflicted with existing vacation plans. Then I found out about the New Orleans seminar on this message board yestrday. It sounds more beneficial than the Santa Barbara event (although with my existing web site, I would have LOVED to visit and review the Fess Parker Winery!) so, I decided sign up for New Orleans.
Funny how thing always work out for the best. See you in New Orleans! :)

In a great tradition of previous lines of bosses, I, Travtek, apologize in advance for any unruly behaviour I might possible display during our party times! :D
Not to worry, my wife will be there to keep me in line...or pay bail!
Can't wait to meet all of you attending,
Travtek

Hey Tony,
That affiliate link was mine. I figure since its my site, I can do that. But if I allow everyone else to post affiliate links, the boards will quickly jam with spam and ruin the fun for everyone.

I'm going, too.
Joel, are you going to be speaking there? I don't see you on the official list, but it seems like your area of expertise is perfect for this particular seminar.

Hi Mike.
Just a quick question. Do you have the natural talent of ubiquity? Denver, New Orleans... Is this your prolific nature or do you have a twin brother?
See you in New Orleans!

What if we get a chant going of "Joel! Joel! Joel!"? I'll bring my negotiating team (villagers with torches).
I'm also going - looks like a good show.
The next Pubcon at webmasterworld in Vegas (Nov) should also be fun
Let's hope New Orleans will still exist after Katrina hits. Right now it doesn't look good.

Hurricane Katrina is moving in on New Orleans and it is doubtful there will be a conference there in two weeks... the place is in big trouble...

I agree - New Orleans isn't looking good. :( The Hyatt has windows blown out and given the lack of electricity, building materials, road, etc it will be a miracle if we're able to meet there.
But I'm sure we'll meet somewhere - so I look forward to seeing everyone. :)

From the lead news story on wsj.com ... Katrina proved a slow-motion disaster as floods filled New Orleans. Officials worked to get all civilians out, even from storm shelters like the Superdome. Efforts to repair the levee along the 17th Street Canal failed. Louisiana's governor described devastation "greater than our worst fears," with more than 80% of the city submerged. The storm already is blamed for more than a dozen deaths in Florida, Georgia and Alabama. Louisiana, which was even more overwhelmed, had not released even an estimate of its death toll last night.
"We're not even dealing with dead bodies," New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin said, underscoring the increasing sense of futility on the part of many local leaders. "They're just pushing them on the side." A particular concern was the Louisiana Superdome, where well over 10,000 residents who had taken refuge from the storm were housed with no power. With water outside the building rising throughout the day, Gov. Blanco said officials were working on a plan to evacuate them and other survivors from the city, which normally has a population of 485,000. :(

What a terrible loss of life and devastation Katrina has incurred! I am keeping all those people in my thoughts and prayers. It's difficult to imagine how this terrible event will change their lives.
On another note, for those of us who had signed up to go that that conference in New Orleans, what do you think about the offer that was made to replace the seminar? I am totally unfamiliar with Content Site Builder so any input from you would be great.
Thanks

I have been a member if Content Site Builder for several months - it is an incredible deal - the amount of information available on the Content Site Builder site is beyond anything I have ever seen. There are training videos, over 100, there is access to 176 public domain works that members can download, there is a forum where members share a of good info with each other. The only problem I experience is keeping up with all the material that is available. I finally figured out that I have to go at my own pace, take advantage of the materials that will help me the most. Everyone on the site is very willing to help out - you just have to make it known what you need. You definately will be a winner if you take up this offer. Sure, I was looking forward to seeing New Orleans, and I am sure next year we will be able to do that . For now - we will have to find our own party - with all the money we will be making with these new tools - we will all be abe to party for a week next year in New Oreans. Take the lemonaid (grab it quick before they come to their senses and realizing what they are giving away!)

I have my jaws dropped watching the effects of the Hurricane and the currents people's situation.
Concerning cancelled seminar, I personally opted by alternative solution. I will enjoy it and I'll try to extract as much value as possible. Definitively I will wait for next year seminar.

I decided to ask for a refund. I just don't get much time to view online seminars much, so it would probably just go to waste.
Isn't it interesting that one of the first photos out of New Orleans was the Hyatt Hotel that this was supposed to take place at?
