I am just curious how come on this forum you are not showing adsense ads.
This is quite interesting, please somebody consider answering me.
Are the other ads more profitable? Then why are you making a forum
for adsense?
Has Google baned you in some way?

Excellent question!
Google won't allow you to run AdSense ads on sites about AdSense. That's all there is to it. :-)

Joel, If you could run adsense... where would you put your ads? Also why no kontera ads? I'm thinking about testing them in our forums.... since adsense ads seem to generate very low ctr.

I wouldn't even both with AdSense on these forums as people are not likely to click AdSense ads on an AdSense site!
If you want to see successful intergration of AdSense on forums, take a look at http://forums.dealofday.com

I would :)
I have not found any note in Adsense Policy regarding sites
about adsense not being allowed to show ads

In Joels,Defense
I don't think this forum would do well with adsense.... because we are all adsense experts....lol.... meaning we deal with it everyday, and rarely click on it...
some people go as far as coping the url from the ad without clicking it....
as with adsense on adsense sites.... Well Joel is Dr. Adsense, and I think he knows the tos, very well... well enough that I would take his word on it.

It's actually not in the TOS, but it is still a fact. Google will stop displaying ads on sites that are about AdSense.

Thanks Joel for the reference to the Deal-of-the-Day site. I was amazed at the membership of over 157,000 and over 1,000 currently online members and guests...
the biggest forum in Nigeria commands a membership of less than 25,000 currently and less than 200 members and guests currently online...even with this we are happy for that kind of traffic...thanks for pointing the way to the future to us.
This is a huge and awesome traffic, I can now appreciate the integration of adsense with others on the site...more grease to you elbow.

That's understandable.
And if you did have adsense ads I wouldn't click on them. I'm conditioned now NOT to click on adsense ads just in case they're on my site or a friends.

I hope that isn't the case all the time. It seems my Adsense page is getting relevant Adsense ads on it.

yep, I've seen 'em on countless adsense-related sites...
...though I still don't think it would be a good idea...

Celicaphile, its not what you think, if there is no 'laws' that bans it, google has no moral obligation not to display ads on it. I, also have seen adsense ads on many adsense sites... and google has not stopped posting their ads there.

Would you click on the ads? Joel, has decided not to use adsense here.... for one I wouldn't either.... because google has us all worried about click fraud that we don't click on any adsense ads....
so how would joel even cover hosting cost if this site had adsense on it....

huh? What I mean by saying that I don't think it's a good idea is just what carminejg3 posted... Either a) other adsense members have a more acute ad blindness or general fear of clicking adsense ads and wouldn't click the ads themselves or b) you make yourself an easy target for click fraud.
