Hey everyone...
I have a forum based on Reality TV.
www.reality-tv-chat.com
I have had some luck when I have bought traffic from Google Adwords and then get some $$ off Google adsense but nothing substantial.
Just curious as to how I can get more traffic and maybe arrange my ads in a different way to get more clicks.
Any feedback is welcomed!!

You need to maybe nudge conversations in the right directions
There was at least 1 Reality TV topic in the last month that generated 30K searches in a very short time frame, and had only 30 or so competing sites for the keywords.
It had a KEI of 3,000,000

Ok...
Not sure which keyword that would be but you have peaked my curiousity.
Also, since it is only a forum (like adsensechat.com) how would one optimize for keywords? That seems a bit difficult. Sure you can start threads and use keywords that way but not sure how to really do that effectively.
Thanks for your post...would love to get more information that would help my site...
Also, any thoughts on how the Adsense is integrated?

My suggestion would be to get rid of the banner ads below your header. That would bring Adsense above the fold and you would have fewer distractions.

Hi dj bill,
I agree with NorthOfTheCity...
My suggestion would be to get rid of the banner ads below your header. That would bring Adsense above the fold and you would have fewer distractions.
The banner ads are a distraction. Unless you are honestly generating a fair revenue from those banners... I'd suggest testing your page without them. You could always put the banners back after a month to 6 weeks if you feel they provide a better revenue opportunity. Testing really helps.
By the way... I love your World Village link near the top... ;)

Your page title comes from post titles, use keywords in posts
Use some formatting like bold and different sizes
For some tips on keyword research take a look at The Golden Keyword Teleseminar I have in my Niche Library.

Figured if Joel was nice enough to let me link with World Village the least I could do would be to return the favor! :p
Honestly, I am going to build a link page on my site....but for now in my attempts to try to get traffic I figured the world village link can only help.
I agree...the banners are annoying. They both have made me money in the past 3 months so I keep them there. I am going to move them somewhere else though...just not sure where. The Real Networks one for Big Brother is only good for a few more weeks anyway. So it will go..bye bye!
I will try those things and see if that helps. Thanks for those comments.
Andy,
So what does this mean??
It had a KEI of 3,000,000
I guess I am not familiar with that term. Also, I am very intersted in knowing what keyword it was if you care to share. :)
Thanks!

The term isn't being searched for now, I did some checking

Take a look in my Niche library and read "The Golden Keywords Teleseminar"
The other books might help too, especially SEO Made Easy
The point being you are in the "gossip market" - you need to key into topics that are hot that day, find out if and how people are searching for more information, and hit the hottest keyword combination with your key phrase, and make sure your initial post contains some good secondary keywords.
Until your site becomes the central hub for this talking, you need to get traffic by other means.
Also join other sites and include a link in a sig to your own site. Building up a community can be hard work.
