List Building

Anyone got any 'must do this' tips on list building? I'm primarily looking at adwords to do this in the first instance. So pop ups/unders are a no-no.

Find something of value that you can give away. My cuirrent giveaway product is using a quote of the day service. I found this service that offers a free 5 line sig file and has a built in affiliate program where they will send out offers to your list.

Giving away a freebie is definitely a good idea. Of course, you will get some who signup just for the freebie and then unsubscribe shortly afterwards.

An e-book is always good, especially if it's branded with your links. At least that way anyone who unsubscribes still has a chance of finding your site through the links - and they may also pass the book on to their own network.
