Hi my question is it seems like today everyone needs a reciprocal link in order to link back....

and when they link back its though a url redirection script anyway so most engines can't count that link. My question is does you pr get effected if you link out more then link in.....

with real links....

so is pr like a bucket..... or is it really just looked at with imbound links as votes to add value to your site.... and it just has more weight on your out bound linking, yet outbound linking doesn't decress your overall pr value....

Would overall pr value be better or worse in the following....
Example...

100 in bound links
and you are using a url redirection script so no "recordable out bound links"

or

100 in bound links
and 200-300 natural outbound links...

any ideas?

Pagerank:

Google looks at a web page and gives it a value based on the number of "incomeing or inbound links", take that value and devide it by the number of links on the page both inbound and outbound.

Each link then "passes" that pagerank to where ever it links to. This could be anther page within the site or an outbound page.

I used to harldley ever link out for "fear of pagerank" loss. However after years of marketing online I am now at the point where I feel as if links are their for my site visitors. If their is a good page and I think my visitors will benefit from the link I will not even think twice.

I do however chase links and reciprocal partners, sometimes I add a site to a blogroll of a blog of mine in hopes of getting a link back. If the site does not link to me I might remove my link.

Don't loose sleep over pagerank, do understand that when a visitor leaves your site through a link you might loose income.
