I'd be remiss if I didn't offer my ebook as the first resource anyone should pick up when deciding to use AdSense on a web site!

Good choice, Joel. I had started with Adsense about 5 months before you came out with the book. My high month until then ws $21.

I bought the first edition in mid-February, and doubled that high month IN FEBRUARY! The next month was another 150% increase, with Adsense on only one site.

Your examples and suggestions, especially hints on how to experiment with layouts and colors, had a huge effect on the Adsense effectiveness on my site.

Now, my challenge is to increase my traffic, to keep my ads visible, and to work on those site sections that have high traffic but low CTR.

Hubby and I had a similar experience.

We had been earning about $75 a month on our ads, which basically meant we were getting a check every other month, yet we were still paying $100.00 every month for our server.

The very first month we made just a couple of small changes in our ads and saw our adsense income quadruple. It was amazing.

This month we are on target to do over six times what we were originally earning. Now, I've got the bug and I'm trying to push the envelope as far as possible but I seem to have hit a wall.

Here, here! I recommend this ebook as well. :)

I bought the ebook but didn't get around to reading and implementing ideas until about 3 weeks later. I coulda kicked myself when I saw the result changes. My income went up 50 to 60 dollars a day!

After Joel released version 2 at the beginning of July, I saw another increase of about $20 a day.

The newsletter has also helped boost the income too. The tip about topic related graphics near the ads has given me a boost in CTR and in turn revenue :)

Thanks Joel!

Aloha,

Since reading Joel's eBook and making significant changes to our design templates, our AdSense income across our network of sites is up 250% (and climbing).

Well, although I bought some others (and they have merit too), yours is the one I really followed in details to get myself up and running with AdSense.

Prior to that, I'd been hearing about it for a couple of years, but it was all a big mysetery.

regards,

Asoka :)

How much do you spend on hosting every month? $100? (Or is it webmaster's cost, so I misunderstood?)
What is your site URL?

For 7 years I've had a very well-positioned literary website with 500 pages of solid content that is mostly a labor of love. I've always believed it was a goldmine waiting to be tapped but never took the time to figure out how to mine it.

Then I ran across Joel's eBook offer. I have to admit I was a bit skeptical at first, but his wisdom made such $ense I decided to try it out. To my surprise (more like shock), my revenues increased 400% the very first day--and that's after only adding AdSense code to just 5% of my site's pages. You can bet I'm now motivated to propagate the rest of the site. Thus inspired, I'm building on even more content.

Joel...

You are right...

Your book IS the first resource anyone should pick up! It gets right to the good stuff, and offers lots of great examples. I also like your style of explaining (writing). It gets through to me.

I am so glad that I came across your book. I never realized the potential of AdSense. I have always been so focused on my online family business that I never thought that I could so significantly benefit my bottom line by offering AdSense.

Oh, sure... I signed up for AdSense a year or so ago. I put up the code and got what I had expected... a couple of bucks. Nothing to get excited about.

But, since you revealed (shared) the information in your book with me, I am truly excited... and see lots of potential.

Thank-you... Thank-you... and Thank-you once again,

Wow! All these kind words! It is very rewarding to me to know that my work has had an impact on your lives, even if in a small way. :-)

I hope you don't mind me using some of your testimonies on my web page!

Joel, I also think that your book is very useful.
But please, could you help me out with my site that has been banned by Google in the very beggining without explanation. Maybe you can take a look and tell me what's wrong with my site. Please can I contact you in any way and send you my URL? Or you can contact me at imbrod_AT_yahoo.com

I bought Joel's book after seeing it advertised on a newsletter I read regularly and then when I visited the site and found more testimonials from a few other site owners that I knew and respected (Tourbus, Lockergnome for example), I took the plunge. I have a free content site (as someone else said about their site, it's a labor of love) that dispite numerous attempts at affiliate ads, just wouldn't make any money. I added adsense and was getting a check a couple of times a year and was happy because it was paying back its hosting.

After trying a bunch of suggestions from Joel's book I started getting a check every month. I know I can still do better too (bigger checks) :-)

Hey Joel,

I am very curious as I sell my own e-books as well: How many copies of this e-book have you sold thus far?

And what are your main sources of marketing for this specific e-book?

Thanks in advance!

I bought the ebook 2 weeks ago and I've made an increase in clicks and money for sure. But I believe my problem is that my site is not very specific and that I don't get a lot of traffic. I am working on those two things, and once they are in tip-top shape, I will probably see my revenues increase.

Matt,

I'd rather not give exact numbers, but there are more than several hundred people on my mailing list.

There are two keys to effectively marketing an ebook, and maybe I should write an ebook about it ;-)

1) Find a niche that is not already crowded. When I came up with the idea for my AdSense ebook, there were only two other sources out there. I never looked at either because I didn't want to be tempted to copy anything. But the market was definitely ripe for this material, especially since AdSense is such a hot topic.

2) Find good affiliates. Many times you have to pursue them and provide them with a review copy of the ebook, explaining why this would be perfect for them to promote to their audience. Many times affiliates will come to you.

Joel

And he's gonna SPAM those of us who have paid for his Thoughts into Submission! :D

Exact numbers are meaningless!

Quality SELLS!

Doesn't take a Genius to be a Genius On - Line!

Takes a Quality niche.

Takes Hundreds of Hours to absorb, screw everything up ten or more times in a row until you get it right and selling your experience, educating people in 1 hour what it took you months to figure out!

Cost Effective! :)
