I launched my sites about 6 weeks ago and one of them is really taking off. It accounts for 90% of my traffic and clicks. Beyond that, one of its channels is really rocking - accounting for almost all my clicks.
Most of the site's traffic is coming from search engines and people are actually subscribing to the list for updates! WooHoo! The site is http://www.printables4kids.com
I think I am going to let it just cruise along and just add a few puzzles here and there.
Now to focus on my other existing sites and see if I can get them working well too. I am considering 1-2 more sites, but I am going to research words first.
Anyhow, I just had to share!:D

Nice job! And wonderful that it is working so fine, which one is your best performing channel? Is it the adlink on the top left which looks like a menu? Or is it the vertical ad unit on the right? I would bet on the adlink, so would I loose my bet?

The ad link in the upper left is the winner. The block on the right does get some clicks, but nothing like the other one.

Nice job! I really love the kids site. Are the things you implemented on your site in the book adsense code? I just purchased it and need to start reading it:)

Thanks for the positive feedback. I got the book and read it cover to cover. I found it helpful. I have definitely employed some of the techniques it covers.
Your site is great, too. My kids love DDR (ok, so do I) and I am a true believer in kids fitness (I have been coaching gymnastics part time for 20+ years). My son is a game buff and we just created a new blog at http://video-game-tips.blogspot.com (http://video-game-tips.blogspot.com)with the focus on tweens. We should do a review on DDR soon.

Thanks, I am going to have to start reading this book!
I was just trying to figure out if I should put google ads throughout my kids fitness site or not, I do not want to take away from any sales from that site. I am however incorporating adsense into my other site at www.online-health-fitness.com which so far not working to good, but I think the main thing right now is the traffic it is getting. I had this site up a few years ago and recently put it back up.
I wonder what others think about putting adsense on my kids fitness site.
P.S My kids love dance revolution and so do I! I use the fitness mode for part of my work out routine and I love it, it is a great workout.

I think you should put it on your kids fitness site - especially on the articles pages.

I do have google on a few pages of the kids fitness site. If you don't mind taking a look at this page http://www.fitnessandkids.com/art_family-fitness.html Do you think the links should be blue? This is something I keep hearing but also hear the links should blend into the site, so not sure what to do here. I think I will add adsense to all my article pages to start out.
Thanks

my advice is simple: if you don't want to make all your links blues (your content and google ads) then at least use in google ads the same link color as the rest of the page, that's what is called blending. Here you have grey links on ads when the links are pink in the content.
So if you don't want to have blues links (more efficient) then use pink links on ads and in your content modify the css so that the links are underlined.
Just advice, you do as you please, of course, no need to mention it :-)

Not sure what you are saying? I should put pink links in the google ads? Or should I change my links in my navigation?

It's up to you. If you like pink, keep it.
Or add underline and change them to blue.
You can do many things, like having adsense links blue even while keeping your content link pink, so the blue link will stand out.

I'm awed by your report of receiving search engine traffic on a six week old site. Any tips? I'm adding content, so it seems, for the pure pleasure of hearing myself tick-a-tick on the keyboard.

I hope that the fact that the site's traffic is coming from search engines is not luck. :o I have tried to follow all of the guidelines that I use for every site I design. It should be pretty tight from the SEO standpoint, and I think the content topics help too.
You should include your site in your signature line so we can see what it looks like and give you some helpful feedback.

Hi. Just figured out the signature. Thanks for the suggestion.
I'm doing what I can to follow the guidelines I've found - and continue to tweak. Just not getting traffic yet, other than what I send directly from my miniscule list. Even my press releases haven't helped yet. I've been hoping that the fact that my site is still new (scrapped the last one and launched http://www.wordcures.com in May and http://www.healthylivingdiy.com - its blog cousin - in June) is the problem. Can't really tell if AdSense will work or not at this rate.

Hi Denise,
I checked out your site (pretty cool site by the way!) and I'd change your google links to blue - your navigation is blue, so people will be used to clicking on "blue" - I like the placement of your ad unit, I'd just change the link color to blue.
Good luck,
Kim

Thanks I will change them to blue. Can anyone tell me what I need to change in the code to do this?
Thanks

I think you have to go back through Adsense and create new code. (correct me if I'm wrong). You can create custom palettes for each of your blocks if you want.

I am pretty sure there is a way to just change to font color this way it will be easier for me to update all my pages than to go and get new code for each page. I will keep searching.
Thanks

in your code, simply change the line:
google_color_link = "XXXXXX";
with XXXXXX being 0000FF for full blue

it's one way or the other. the goal being having both your navigation and adsense links look the same, and blue being the better, I think, personal opinion.
But you can just let it like it is, maybe it is performing better like it is, to know, you'll have to test each combinaison for one week and take note in your adsense account, then decide.

I have changed the text to blue on this page but wonder how to get it to be the same color blue? http://www.fitnessandkids.com/art_family-fitness.html
Thanks

Nice job with printables4kids.com it looks great.
I was also wondering about the successful channel.
Thanks!

Thanks. The upper left channel is usually the most successful, however, the right hand channel works well too. I am trying to decide if I should add another channel lower on the page or not. I am trying to keep a balance with this site.
