I am just a week old in adsense.
I find it mind boggling with all the info.
I just could not figure out where to start.
I have taken outside help to design my site. But the contents are given by me only.
And I have not the least intenion to have my web site only to serve google ads.
I believe in what I wrote in my site.
I thought any extra revenue will be useful.
I have not earned $5 so far.
Ok, I thought let me concentrate on the design and content so I am seeking expert guidance.
Pl let me hear yours on this: http://primeopportunities.com
Thanks.

It looks pretty good. My biggest suggestion would be to change the banner ads into large box ads (336x280) as they generally do better for CTR.

Thank you very much Mathew for your input.
May I know which banner ads your are referring to?
Regards.

Hi Nanda,
I agree with Matthew. The "block" type ad has better click thru rates... so it is preferable to use. Also, as Joel teaches, if you can make your AdSense ads blend in well with your content, you should see better results.
I took the liberty of making a sample of your page that incorporates a 300x250 Adsense Block ad into your content. I put the AdSense in one column of a table... and some of your content text into the other column.
This type of design has done pretty well for my website, and it might do well for yours also. One thing you will learn here, Nanda, is that testing is a real good thing. Keep records of the changes you make, then track your results. This will help you make better decisions.
You can have a look at the sample here:
*********
(I plan on removing these files from my server in 3 days unless you contact me and say it's OK to leave them there for other people to view so they can visualize the idea I am suggesting for your website - I don't mean to infringe on your work... simply use it for you to see the possibility).
Also, Nanda... you mention that you don't want to fill your site with ads... that's totally understandable. You want to feature YOUR content. I applaud you... but ask you this simple question:
Do you want to really help your visitors find what THEY want? Or do you want them to only focus on what you offer?
Here's why I ask...
As an online merchant selling my own product, I found my own strong resistance to offer AdSense as anything other than a side note... something there to show my site was "advertising worthy". I wanted people coming to my website to come on in and purchase my product.
But, then it all slapped me in the face when I read Joel's book (I highly recommend it). I was leaving money on the table.
The simple fact is in my circumstance, 8.2 out of every 10 people who come to look at my site leave before they ever go inside to look at my product. This has actually been the case for over five years. It makes me frustrated... but reality is reality.
So, I know most of the people coming to my site didn't find what they were looking for... they were still searching! I then asked myself a question - when I was surfing looking for information or a specific product - did I ever use the AdSense ads on other peoples websites to take me somewhere else I may find what I was looking for? The answer was a huge - YES!
Google really does do a nice job of targeting their ads. This is really a valuable service for my visitors (even if they are just passing through). I am simply helping them find what they are looking for.
What drives me in my business is the sense of helping and sharing and giving back. I sense you come from the same place. I suggest you consider the help that you are offering your visitors by using AdSense ads.
This is why I am proud to incorporate AdSense ads in my content! Golly... I know I am being of service to folks... I would never do anything to try to trick or deceive people into clicking ads on my websites...
And, keep in mind - people CHOOSE to click the ads because they are motivated to find what they seek.
You really can feel Proud to help others by offering AdSense ads.
This is my opinion... and I'm very Proud of it.
I wish you the very best, Nanda. I really like what I read on your website. And, the picture of "The Mother" was incredible... it spoke to my heart.
Keep up the quest... you really can positively affect others thru your online endeavor... and AdSense can be an avenue to help others as well as help yourself. It's in the proper order of things.
