Hello everybody,

This is my first post and here is my story:

I have started with Adsense, couple of months ago (June '05) it was just a try (very low clicks, hardly breaking a $1/day). and here is the starting site:

http://www.CalgaryAutoStore.com

This site is currently ranked #1 on Yahoo and very high rankings on MSN with the variations of search keyphrases like (calgary used cars, Calgary used vans, calgary auto auctions...)

From July, I have bought second edition of Joel's book (my first adsense book) I was able to increase page CRT to almost 10% but earnings are still below $10 / day.

Need your opinion on how to increase traffic, and/or Adsense income, I know that it's possible. ($99/day?!)

Any suggestions or critique will be highly appreciated
Thank you,
Dj

Hi DJ,

Welcome to the forums! I'm glad to hear that your AdSense is increasing.. now we need to tweak your pages and get more traffic to your site.

You might want to get a reciprocal link at http://www.worldvillage.com/links/index.html

As far as AdSense goes, I took a look at this page...

http://www.calgaryautostore.com/calgary_suv_trucks.html

I'm not too crazy about the sidebar. You can leave it if you want, but I would put a 336x280 or 300x250 in the center column where the AdLinks unit is. Put the Adlinks unit in the left menu bar just under HOME. You'll need to change the background and text color to match your blue background.

HOLY COW! I just noticed that you have a two-ad AdSense block all the way at the bottom of your left column. EEEK! hehe..

That is the hurting you more than you know. Since that adblock is in your left column, it is probably the first block in your html document. Know what that means? Your highest paying ads never get clicked! Get rid of that block completely.

Report back after a few days of tracking these changes, soldier. :-)

Put the Adlinks unit in the left menu bar I am a total believer in that. When the adlinks first came out I tested them somewhere else on the page and the results were more than :( . Read a top from Joel in the newsletter for his ebook owners a couple of weeks later, saying to put them in the menu. Tried it, and very  .

I noticed a Website using Adlinks across the top (on this forum, don't remember who, though), equivalent to just under DJ's top navigation...I envision the 728x15, going across, dark blue background, white text. Wonder what kind of results that would get? (of coure, for that to be doable, it would have perform better than the left-menu version since only one AdLinks unit is allowed per page).
