So..if I have a site and have my google toolbar running and it shows a page rank of zero. (0/10)

Is that bad?

Does that mean I should pack up shop and leave town?

Is the internet closed today??

I just read a SEO document that said something about that if it is zero that means Google has BLOCKED YOUR SITE?!? Also said that it was called being "greybarred" (which does not sound good)

I am not worried yet but it seems like my main struggle is getting traffic to my websites so I am hoping I can figure out what I need to do next!

Site is www.reality-tv-chat.com. It is a message board (like this one) and has a bunch of content. So any ideas how to pump up the Google Page Rank??

Peace,

DJ Bill

I had at once point a PR of 0 on my pet project http://www.rescuepoint.com/ - currently on hold cuz Joel works me too hard, but after I started developing it and adding more content it bumped to 6..

Considering all that it started out as (a very empity link directory) I figure Google just said "your page sucks" and didn't do any rank until I actually got more content in.

Still no where near done and really wish I had time to mess with it, but life is so busy right now.. eesh..

Not real sure why yours is 0 though. The only think I can think is that you don't have many good links in at all. They do weigh heavily on the quality of sites linking to you.

Oh, on a side note. The forums would look better if you unified the size of the show title images. Made them all the same width at least. Most image programs can resize. If you don't have one on hand, the old standby Gimp (linux + windows) is great.

Thanks for that info..

Yeah...i have the content...so I am struggling with my site...i believe the more people that visit will make it more of a adsense money maker.

I do agree about the show buttons. I am still trying to figure out what I want to do with those. I do like them....but yes..the different sizes are goofy looking!

Just trying to give my site a unique look and not like a "just another forum"

Maybe someday I will actually edit the style! :p

I will keep plugging away....

Give it time. As long as you didn't go from PR something to PR nothing, it will come.

And Darkwolf, it was probably my linking to RescuePoint.com that gave it a PR 6.. quit whining ;-)
