Hi guys, It was a toss up between positng here or in the 'talk about adsense' forum here won by a short head
I’d like to ask a question here and it is directed more to those of you who are making decent money through adsense. The answer, I hope, will help us struggling adsensers.
For information based sites what do you find is your most popular format? By format I mean is the site 700px, 750px or 1000px wide? Do you find that a two or three column works best?
My own preference, and I am a long, long way from giving up the day job, is for the larger size – about 950-100px wide. One of the main reasons been that I can comfortably fit in a 386 ad format (especially if an image is attached,) and wrap text around it, blending, I think, much better that having it sit on its own. I’m also inclined to the two column layout with the menu on the left side.
However, for those of us who bought Joel’s first batch of IAT I note that a great number of these were much smaller 700px seemed to be about standard – although there were a number much larger than this.
But this is not a question about commercial templates it is more a question of what actually works for real people.
I appreciate that you will not want to point us in the direction of any of your popular sites but a brief description of the layout would be welcomed. Also you might have come across a number of sites that you feel we struggling adsensers could learn from, you could supply those URL’s
Many thanks for any suggestions offered.
