Do the search engines get confused or get suspicious if you change your index page title too many times in a short amount of time? I have done this on one of my sites in the last few days because I was having some problems. Maybe I should put it back to the original keywords. Any suggestions or opinions on this?
Also, I have changed keywords on one of my other sites before and they were changed in google relatively quickly. For this other site though, they are taking a long time and it is a blog site through blogger.

I am no expert, but I would guess that the search engines (Google) wouldn't spider your site often enough to notice changes made over days. That also may be the reason your site keywords showed up on one change immediately, but not on the other, ie it was just the timing of the spidering which meant the one that got changed quickly got spidered right after you done it.

I think if you change your title and content often, the search engine may think that you have new stuff online and more likely to spider more often.
Just a thought.

I don't think it's a problem. Changing the title could change your ranking for some search terms, though, and if you change it too much you can't tell which version is causing what changes in your rankings.
I don't know about the other search engines, but Google visits different sites at different intervals. I have one site where changes in the listing generally show up the next day or two. Others, it takes longer.

The main factor is if the title is still relevant to previous title and content. If your title and content changes completely then that would probably cause a red flag. ;)

Although, on page optimization is a small part on how to get ranked higher for your keywords.
Is your title tag relevant to your content? if so, no worries.
that said, how your link partners are linking to you holds more weight on how well you will do. offpage optimization is what will help you rank higher.
