I've been considering buying XSite Pro and have read all the rave reviews. My goal is to build three or four nice, content rich web sites that will be around for the long haul. I want to redesign my current web site to get my visitors to stay longer (it's a new site still in the sandbox but ranking very well on MSN for various keywords). XSite Pro sounds wonderful, but to be honest, all the web sites I've seen designed by the program have a "cookie cutter" appearance. I'm looking to design something that looks more like this site: Spirituality and Health Magazine Site (http://spiritualityhealth.com)
Is something like this possible with XSite Pro? Or should I stick with Dreamweaver for a design like this?
Thanks for your help! :)

As mentioned in other posts here, there is a 'learning curve' with xSitePro, but once your on it, it can be an extremely useful tool..... I've used RAD (Rapid Application Development tools) for years as a web designer, to build database driven sites etc.. yet, having used xSitepro, I find it great for simple creating fast, up-datable sites 'on the fly' so to speak.
Something like the site in your post is 'very' possible (I've done it ;) ).

Marcia,
I do have xsitepro ( and also Dreamweaver MX 2004 + others like SBI).
Obviously, xsitepro is much less powerful and flexible than Dreamweaver. But I still like it because it's so simple to learn and I can built sites quickly.
You are right about most of the sites using it are "cookie cutter" types. Most likely because the typical buyer for xsitepro does not know a lot about HTML.
I will never have a "cookie cutter" site... and I was able to created some nice sites with it. By going "outside the box".
but another program I am looking forward to is the Studio 8 (http://www.macromedia.com/software/studio/experience) . Take a look at the site, pretty cool. But certainly not a simple program like xsitepro...

Thanks for the response, Eladesor. I guess I'll give more thought to buying XSite Pro. I've checked out your templates...Nice!

Dan,
Thanks so much for the response. I checked out Studio 8. What a cool presentation Macromedia put together! I, too, have Dreamweaver MX 2004, although I am certainly a novice with it. Seems like the new version will be worth the upgrade. Thanks for sharing the site.
Do you think XSite Pro is worth buying to put together some quick sites? Although I refuse to have a "cookie cutter" site... Maybe I should put together some adsense niche sites with XSite Pro while I work on my primary, content sites with Dreamweaver.
Thanks again, Dan.
Cheers,

Marcia,
I know regarding Studio 8, very cool presentation.

This is what I am doing myself. I am also not a Dreamweaver expert, only a novice+ :)
But never had to open the instruction manual for Xsite (http://www.xsitepro.net) .
