So, what does everyone suggest?
Do you make more money with blog sites or regular content sites made manually with frontpage, etc? Which one has the potential for more traffic.

Which one is better to work with and which do you recommend more? Please give me reasons why.

Of course, it can depend on a number of things, but blogging sites generally do better with Adsense. There are exceptions to this rule, but the nature of blogs makes them better suited for adsense (ie, they have higher placement in search engines, they are updated regularly). This all depends on the amount of traffic that you have coming to your site as well as the type of content on the site.

I had planned on making my next 3 sites into blogs instead of manual sites with frontpage because the template is already there and it's so much quicker and easier to update but then I heard that blogging was a fad and that the search engines are cracking down on the blogging so now I dont know what I should do. I really like blog sites so much better. They are so much easier to read and find what you are looking for. Well, most are anway. I currently use blogger with 3 of my blogs and thought about using wordpress. Can anyone tell me the benefits of wordpress over blogger?

If you have Microsoft Excel or similar, open it up and create yourself a spreadsheet.
Play around with different types of sites, content etc.. and record what you are doing on the spread sheet, this way you can easily track what works and what doesn't.

I find this useful as often you can have lots of domains and then watch / compare them over a couple of weeks, months or what ever. By using the spreadsheet you will be able to see 'when' a site reaches it's 'peak' (lots of indexed pages for example) and when it starts to 'fall off' the radar screen ;) You can then compare the different types of sites that you have made and get a feeling for what your good at (i.e. what works) and what your not ;)

I heard that blogging was a fad and that the search engines are cracking down on the blogging I think the search engines are not frowning on blogs themselves, just adjusting ranking results from certain blogging techniques (like URLs posted by visitors in the comments).

Haven't read or heard anything about blogs in general being a no-no. In fact, seems that RSS feeds (one of the technologies for delivering blog posts and other syndicated content) are on the upswing.
