I'm new to Adwords and just want to clarify some of the terms.

AdWords Search: I take it to mean the ads that google display down the right side of google search returns?

It's the Contents I'm a little confused about. Is that the 250x250 ad, the skyscraper, or the banner that we placed on sites all over the place? I'm assuming it is.

We have a saying over here that there are 'horses for courses,' and the course that I'm running on at the moment is promoting affiliat programs from Clickbank. Now I'm wondering what is the best horse for this course. Is it Content or Search.

Many thanks for any insights

Kevin

Yes you're right, content is Adsense Publishers who have adsense blocks on their websites.

Search is google search, but also some selected "search content" partners of google, when I tested it, it was some lame sites (ie. no real content) that we all saw sometimes, with lots of keywords and presenting only sponsored results. But they work because they are "on topic".

For clickbank, why not using adwords, and other networks as well, such as adbrite, msn and yahoo, and others.
