Doorway Pages

Are doorway pages a good idea. I have been using them, but I recently heard that they can get you blacklisted from certain search engines.

I try to optimize different sections of my site for different SE's. The key is to use different key words in each section. If you do this then it is just a different section not a doorway page.

I other way I like to do it is to have 3 sites for each subject each done for a different SE. Do not use the exact same pattern for each site and spread them around on different IPs so it will not be obvious what you are doing. Make the registrar information different also if you can. Google always checks this. 3 sites are easy just use the .com, .net and .org for each.
