Okay I setup an account for myself. Its not contextual. Ads are divided by "categories" which you select one:
Apple/Mac
Arts & Literature
Automotive
Business & Finance
Careers
Comics & humor
Computer & Development
Consumer Technology
eCommunity & Portals
Entertainment
Food/Cooking
Games
Gay & Lesbian
Health & Fitness
Home & Garden
Kids & Family
Mobile/Telecom
Music
News & Culture
Politics
Reference & Education
Sports & Recreation
Travel
The ads are limited to 4 sizes to display:
160x600
728x90
468x60
300x250
My best guess is that they can be used on the same pages as Adsense, as long as you display Pheedo in a different color/size layout than Adsense ads. YPN will probably say "no" from my previous questions to them.
I am testing a 728x90 Pheedo unit, and it is showing 3 ads. I have control over the usual display options: background color, border color, text color, link color, url color. It has a label "Ads by Pheedo" in the border, very similar to Adsense.
The code for an ad unit is wrapped in an IFrame. There does not appear to be any Javascript involved.
You can setup a "zone" for an ad unit - basically, choose a website or web page as your "zone" and you can choose the category, size, and colors for that particular ad unit. Seems to get tedious if you want to setup different ads on many pages - probably best to setup one ad for a "website" or "domain" for me.

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for telling me about Pheedo ~ I've not heard about them before and they certainly look interesting. I suspect this could be an alternative advertising option for me so I'm very interested to hear your results as a publisher. I don't know much about RSS though so this seems to be another thingy I need to learn about.
Their CPC appear to be not as expensive @ $0.76 - $0.86 PC as I first thought they would be which surprised me given the 'big' names who use their services.
Cheers all,
Jan

Pheedo does not have the extensive variety of advertisers that more established networks display, but Pheedo seems to pay well on a paid-per-click basis, much better than Adgenta. (Adgenta is apparently having troubles with its ad supplier. Miva supplies Adgenta's ads, and I have never thought very highly of Miva.)
