One of the things I discuss in my ebook is the important of getting inbound links to your web site. One way to do this is to purchase cheap links. I have implemented the now-famous "Buy me a drink" script on a web site that allows people to "donate" a few dollars to a worthy cause and walk away with a link to their web site.
In this case, the worthy cause is my sweet tooth. Check out www.BuyJoelDessert.com and you might become a linking believer. :)

Great idea, Joel,
I hope you enjoy the Sundae and cookies I sent! :D
Thanks for the link back... I'm looking to have my newest site come out of the sandbox with links in place.
Anybody reading this, do yourself a flavor and go buy Joel dessert! The link is worth it!

Hi All,
I hope this is OK to post here. It is my site, and I didn't see that it violates anything in your guidelines. And... I DID buy you a treat several months ago (Jim Nelson.) Anyhow, for anyone wanting another inbound link, I have a variation on Joel's desserts (very new)....

Joel or moderators, if this violates anything, please remove with my apologies.
My best,
Jim

Jim,
I don't really have a problem with it, but you really need to give people a good reason to buy you a drink!
My desserts come because people have received something from me. It is an opportunity to give back.
Plus, my page has a decent page rank, making for a good outgoing link.
I appreciate the snack you bought me and wish you well with your site!

Hi Joel,
You're right. I started it actually for my ParrotsNow site. I spend an hour or 2 a day answering emails giving people advice on their parrot problems. And post a lot of notices about lost parrots. I've had a number of people asking if they can make a donation for all that. So, thought I'd try it out this way. Didn't even think about that before posting here.
But yes, there's nothing really there for these forum members. Unless of course, they check out my sites, find some help, and want the link ;)
Anyhow, thanks for the wishes Joel.
Best,
Jim

Joel this is a great idea, you should be getting pretty chubby. I have 3 sites I'm working on as we speak so I will be contributing to your sweet tooth (and possible weight problem) soon.
