Of course Google and the Adsense program are king of the hill, but we just found an alternative to Google adsense that enables you to sell links on your site as well as purchase real traffic inexpensively from other sites.. Buy & Sell links (http://www.adbrite.com) is the site. Their rules for ad placement are much more liberal. Alexa uses their service as well.
