My message board, HyperBoard (http://www.hyperboard.co.uk), are displaying too many web hosting ads when my message board has got nothing to do with web hosting.

Can anyone give me some tips why it's showing them and how do I get rid of them so it will show the ads that are related to my message board?

The URL is http://www.hyperboard.co.uk

Many thanks,

Easy - give them to me! (My site is about hosting) :p

Kidding...

But I just openned your site and got ads for

www.devilz-scooter.com (about Scooters, Pocketbikes etc.)
www.tv-shopping24.com (about fitness, workout etc.)

There are no hosting ads this time.

All I see at the moment is ads for the game Grand Theft Auto and ads for cars.

I have a similar problem. My site is a techie site, every now and then I write tutorial about different technologies. One of my tutorials is for a Java based web application framework called Wicket. In that tutorial, the example application built is an online pizza ordering system. Adsense picked up on this, and all the ads on the tutorial pages are about italian food. Totally irrelevant. If I add the existing adds to my "competitors list" so that they don't get displayed, I get additional italian food ads. Pretty frustrating.

I hope my readers are hungry.

I've just gone back to my board and I see them.

I wonder if it's related to where you're from? I'm from UK.

I visited your site again. I don't see any graphic ads; I only see the ad block at the bottom of the page.

This time the ads are:
free phpbb forum hosting
osCommerce templates
Power Maxx Vibrations

To get rid of images/pics
log into your adsence account and change it to only display text ads
under
https://www.google.com/adsense/account-settings
Ad Type Preference

then but the ads where this is actual content or text..
this should help

Maybe this would be a good use for section targetting?

It gets mentioned in this thread (http://www.adsensechat.com/showthread.php?t=321&highlight=relevant).

Works for me now.

The HTML tags to emphasize a page section take the following format:
<!-- google_ad_section_start -->

<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

You can also designate sections you'd like to have ignored by adding a (weight=ignore) to the starting tag:
<!-- google_ad_section_start(weight=ignore) -->

Yeah, I'm aware about it, thanks. Images or text ads, it still displays the web hosting ads which I want to get rid of.

Thanks again

I would move the ads
this forum is a great example of how to add them into the forum
and that should help get more revelent content.

Thanks for the reply. Where should it move to, if you can suggest a good area to display them?

I'm also from the UK and I see mainly ads for GTA Vice city and PSP. I can see two text ads only (out of 8) for webhosting - and these are the two bottom ones.
