View Full Version : Revenue drop because of Adwords changes??

I realize one day's stats are not enough to base an assumption on, but my Adsense income dropped in half yesterday. I'm wondering if this has to do with the new changes to Adwords, and the dropping of keywords that Google suddenly imposed.
Anyone else notice a drop in their Adsense revenue on Thursday?

Various SE changes over the last few months have dropped my meager adsense income by almost half.

I've learned not to sweat day-to-day fluctuations -- it's crazy-making. Just concentrate on making your site excellent, do careful testing of different ways to present your ads, and long at the long term trends and you'll do better in the long run, without driving yourself nuts.

It seems like when one person's revenue goes up, another goes down. And then we all blame it on the same thing.
Like Randy said, you can't watch the day to day movements and draw too many conclusions. It's like watching the stock market! Over the long haul, everything will be just fine. :-)

I'm not much of a stats guy...but one I can't ignore is that my Adsense income is down 25% from July. Pretty discouraging.
The number of clicks is roughly the same. So it seems that I am seeing lower paying ads.
This is extra discouraging because one of my development partners has already been invited to join the Yahoo Publisher Network...and she's seeing double the payout that she was getting with Google for similar traffic.
But...I solider on. So many things to work on. Adsense shall return to better paying ads for me soon. :D

This is FANTASTIC news, Chuck! Yahoo will be a reality for all of us before the year is out. It can only increase the revenue share paid by Google. Hang tight because better days are around the corner.
Can you share the site that your friend is displaying Yahoo ads on?

Ultimately I ignore daily stuff and either compare weekly or monthly. Also it matters your site and whether it is relevant on a daily basis... One of my sites doesn't do well in summer because people don't visit is as during winter.

I agree ...daily stuff shd be ignored..there is way too much variation ..look at it by the month or atleast by the week

Mine doubled last week.
Now I notice things are a bit of since Sunday and today... will wait a few more days before reacting.

JoelYes, please Chuck! Competition is a great thing (well...competition among suppliers anyway. lol). When "Yahoo Sense" hits I will be a testing fiend (unfortunately, I didn't get a beta account). Great fun.

Actually, Joel...I hope she'll come and speak for herself. I am uncomfortable sharing someone else's site URLs.
I sent her an invite.
