I am not a big adwords user - have tried it a few times, but never had the time to get it optimized. I had paused my campaigns for the past few months.

But decided to try it again on a few promotions.

set up a couple new campaigns - 3 adwords groups in each - ads targeted right to product page - keywords in ad - keywords in landing page title, meta and on page.

About 10-20 keywords in each ad group - all variations of my keyword (e.g. gmc yukon suv, buy yukon suv, buy gmc suv, buy yukon, etc)

Started out ok - getting some clicks -

Then with one campaign - on one adwords group - I decided to lower my bid price down a bit.

Then all my keywords on that one went inactive! (even the keywords that were getting clicks at the price I lowered it too or lower).

So I raised it back up - but still nothing.

It is saying I need $1 -- $12 to make them active.

what do I do.

Also - all my other adword groups have basically stopped giving me clicks. Like google is not showing my ad anymore.

HELP!

Thanks in advance
Jack

Hi Jack,

What you have there is a case of google slap. Probably your keywords are not grouped.

1. Do the adwords course given by google on their site.
2. Divide your campaigns into multiple adgroups

Put keywords in related groups like this:

honda suv
new honda suv
honda suv launch
honda suv release

honda suv parts
spare parts honda suv
honda suv spares

3. Create relevant ads that include as many of the keywords as possible.

4. Create a Landing page for each conceptual group you make.

Put your Keywords in the meta fields as you mentioned - ad a site map; privacy policy and put some other linked relevant pages behind with articles and or reviews.

work on this daily and you'll have a good campaign up and running in no time.

Cheers,

Mike
