I saw at onlinemarketingtoday.com that there is a free link management assistant and I was wondering if anyone uses this. I was going to use it for link exchanges for my websites then I read that so many people frowned upon this type of software since it also says that it is a niche website directory generator. It is free and that is why I considered it. Right now I do all of my links manually and I thought it would be easier and faster to use this. Any suggestions? Any other better alternatives? Would it hurt my site if I used this for link exchange management only?

I tried that but i couldn't get it to install on my web host. Now I simply use the default WordPress link manager to handle my links.

I use this tool as well because it was free. It setup quite easily for me and gives a prfessional and polished look to my links directory. I'm not sure if it has harmed me to do so though.

Mommy2GG,

To make the distinction, LMA is not a "directory Generator" but a Links or Website Directory script. For example I have created a niche "seo and internet marketing" links directory at my site which is based on this niche.

If you need to look at a working example of the script in action we have used it on our main Marketing Defined site -- the Directory link is at the bottom of the home page for easy access.

The Online Marketing Forum also has some excellent examples of how the script has been deployed for "niche" website directories. John who wrote the script is an active moderator at the Forum, and is hugely helpful for any questions you might have.

You can use any categories you like for your own links directory -- although I recommend you instal it to the root directory of your site, rather than a new directory called "lma" as the instructions direct you to do. This will shorten the URLs considerably, which is always better for SEO purposes.

Hope this helps you in your choices --- it is an excellent script.

Cheers
