My friend Dave Taylor at www.askdavetaylor.com picked up on a very subtle, but earthshaking, Adsense feature that appears to be in the making.
Visit Askthebuilder.com and check out one of the sub-pages.
http://www.askthebuilder.com/CabinetsCountertops.shtml
See the Google ads? Now, check out the "Advertise on this Site" link which appears in the upper right hand portion of the ad. Whoa! Click it!
Now, you will be able to sign up for AdWords and target your ads directly to a site with ease! What does this mean to AdSense publishers? It means more advertisers are going to be looking for quality content that is highly targeted. At the same time, I think we are going to see more advertisers that are willing to shoot in the dark to get any traffic they can, targeted or otherwise.
Only time will tell for sure, but it looks like this is going to be a good feature.
Check out Dave Taylor's blog for more on this new innovation coming to a Google AdSense block on your page!

Excellent!! that will surely kill all scraper sites and other software generated junk.

How is it going to "kill" any sites?
"low quality" sites will simply not be targeted as much for site targetting. They will still have the same Adsense ads they have now.
A good quality site will simply have a better chance of an advertiser targetting their site specifically.

Well, unless advertisers start using site targeting much more. I'm an advertiser as well as a publisher, and believe me, I love it that I can selectively target sites and thus avoid the more useless ones.

I completely agree, however, this new "feature" will not reduce the effectiveness of bulk spam pages. Simply that advertisers won't selectively target them. There will always be countless advertisers that will not use site targeting ad continue using content match, and the scraper sites of the world will still get ads, and still make money, just not from targeted advertisers.

Do you think that google is tring to generate some more income from the better sites using adsense. By having an advertiser select a certain site to advertise this increaseing what they'll pay, and what that site owner will recieve per click?

and to add to what carminejg3 asked..
what about sites arent receiving alot of traffic? advertisers will most prob not want to advertise..and that means it's bad news for the adsense site owner!!??

I agree that may be bad news, but. We have a larage site and I know tons of small niche sites with get content, that help offset hosting fees with google. I know the google crew is pretty smart so, I hope that this is a win - win for everyone.
Smaller sites may not get a toyota car ad, but I'm sure they will get some smaller advertisers since some advertisers simple play the numbers.
this will be an intreasting one indeed. (personally I'm hoping for better target traffic, plus maybe a referral fee to the publish site for signing people up)
Since google is really using your site to recruit more advertisers.
And the advertise on this site, will throw off your link blending. I wonder if askthebuilder.com is getting more or less clicks, and higher or lower cpc's.

i do agree with carminejg3. but, adsense IS a free service,so they can change their policy anytime. maybe MSN Adcenter (https://adcenter.msn.com/Default.aspx) can offer us something new.
anybody received their MSN Adcenter invitation?
