Anyone installed the Wordpressmania and Content blogger scripts?
I am tired of reading cryptic install "instructions" and watching videos, that don't explain any sequence.
Maybe I'm being silly, but I don't even know what to give to an installer at elance, when asking for a quote.
Any help would be welcome

I actually bought the WP Mania script yesterday ($1) and just finished installing my first blog.
I haven't watched the videos but managed to get through the process.
This is basically what I did:
1. Extract the WPINSTALLER.Zip file to one of my existing website (example.com) directories (ie. "wp") (so I could access the install.php)
2. Edit the install.php and set the MySql login and the PATH to unzip. (this was my first hiccup, as it states, it ONLY needs the PATH, which for me was "/usr/bin/")
3. I went to my original site and executed the installer (from a browser, went to http://www.example.com/wp/install.php) which was a simple form wanting an to create admin user & password then a list of all the blogs I wanted to create. (I only created 1 for testing)
4. Click OK or INSTALL on that form and it does the rest of the work for you. Now if your domains are propogated then you should be able to go to the URL you specified for creating your blog and it should be there. If there are any problems, it will tell you.
After writing this and thinking about doing this, it is pretty involved if you're not too techie. If my description doesn't help, PM me and I can help you on the side, if you'd like.

I was also interested in that product, but how efficient is it compared to normal setups? It takes me less than 5 min to setup one, but is it worth your money?
I'm also concerned about the customization. Customization is where it takes time, not the installation. What are your thoughts on it?

Well, I had never manually done a manual WP installation, so I can't compare. But now that I have this script, after the first 5 minutes it took to get up and running it'll take me about 30 seconds to create any additional blogs. For $1, I call it a steal considering the numbers of sites I already manually build.
As for customization, I've been looking at http://www.poweryourwordpress.com Wordpress Elite, it _seems_ to pickup right where WP Mania leaves off.

I know that even Keith Baxter promotes Wordpress Elite (aka poweryourwordpress.com), which got me to try it out.
Customization is its strength. I only have about 15 blogs now, but any changes I need to make on them is done in a few minutes, from one interface. I can't tell you how much time its saved me.
There is a couple drawbacks though. Although he already has ten or so plugins, you can only use the plugins that he (Gary, the creator) has put into the Wordpress Elite system.
If you want to use a plugin outside those ten, then you either have to install it into each of your blogs manually, or you have to ask Gary to put the plugin into the WE system (in which case it will be available for everybody to use.)
On the other hand, Gary is already developing a desktop version of worpress elite where you can put in your own plugins whenever you want.
Hope that helps.

Hi,
I have the script. Everything appears to be working fine and then it stops with 'unable to create database'.
I would appreciate any help here.
Thanks
