Adsense Detective

Hi All

I have a free trial at Adsense Detective. Im finding that the stats are way off. It is not collecting the hits to my site like it should. Each day says im getting 2 to 3 hits on my site. Im getting thousands. Anyone else having the same.

Hi Kevin.....Consider yourself lucky...I paid for adsense detective on the 24th March.....and I'm still waiting for the detective to find me.....if its that hard to find me ....when I paid left my address etc...I can not imagine how it could possible detect the number of hits I would get on my pages.

I've tried AdsenseDetective, evaluated it. Here is my feedback:

1. The program only reported about half of the actual clicks reported by Google.
2. The program only reports the ad url, not the ad text as being promised.
3. The program doesn't support UTF-8 yet.

It seems I will have to go with a hosted script like Adsense Tracker / Adsense Gold.

I was considering buying Adsense Detective, but there are certain claims on the site which don't add up.

"track the exact text that earns you the click"

Due to restrictions placed on IFRAME elements when it's contents URI differs from your own... you are unable to get any internal information about the iframe... so getting text is impossible.

"Easily determine the EXACT SEARCH TERMS used by your visitors to find your page"

While possible, it would require an inventory of search engines and their respective search text variables in order to parse the EXACT terms as you state. What happens when someone visits the site from a search engine which isn't in scope of Adsense Detective?

"AdSense Detective stats are in Real-Time. (Google's best is 48hrs old.)"

48hrs? I don't think i've ever had to wait that long!

Please scrap that s**t and ask for your money back if you can, what can they do that free and open source http://www.adlogger.org cannot?

Thanks so much for those excellent suggestions. I just signed up for hittail and, holy crap, does it ROCK!!!! You're very generous to share such a valuable tool. I can't wait to dig into it further. I also looked into the adlogger tool and will implement that tomorrow.

Thanks for the info and they both appear worth a look. Hittail provides the same info I can get from my server reports but Adlogger looks very interesting. Thanks for sharing...

Don't make the mistake of thinking hittail is like google analytics or your web server reports, have a look at it, the good part of it is SUGGESTIONS.

I've been using adsense detective for a few months now and it works great... i can't figure out why i got bumped up to the $50/mo account. I've been trying to get that fixed but nobody answers my email... so joel, ifyou're listening, can you look into that for me? id is 51.

also, i get very different stats from google vs adsense detective and i am convinced that it is because google is combating "click fraud" and randomly killing clicks to ads on my sites. i asked them about it and they said that it is because the 3rd party reporting software must be wrong, but I don't think so.... they said, "trust us, our stats are accurate" I figure my earnings would be 3 or 4 times what they are if I got paid for all the clicks that adsense detective is reporting. oh well... it is better than nothing.

while i'm on my conspiracies, let me say that it also seems that just when i start to pick up steam, head close to several $50 dollar days in a row, the ads on my sites all of a sudden change to non-relevant ones and then my numbers drop to the low $20's...

back to adsense detective... the feature i like the most is the "domain pages" report. it tells me what pages get the most clicks by percentage... those are the ones that i rotate on my sidebar's "hot pages" section. seems to work pretty well...
