Today its a full one month since I registered at adsense. After a few cents per day initially, now my income is roughly just a shade under 1 dollar per day on average. I have 3 blogs, out of which 1 is very new other 2 about 1 month old. Since I'm a seo and know some tricks of the trade, I was able to bring my blog pages in top searches for some keywords for 1 of the blog and all my income till now has been from that blog only.
I know it takes time to rank high in search engines especially for more competitive terms hence I do hope for better performance in coming months, but what really disturbs me is that I frequently see people talking about adsense income right from the day they joined adsense program. Being an seo I know no one can rank high within the first week itself so where do they get all those income from if not from free search engine traffic?Any Ideas?? I have purchased Joel's book but will take time to reach me. Pls anyone tell me if my performance till now(about 1 dollar a day) in the first month of adsense(also first month of my blog) is encouraging or not and how much more can I expect in coming months. How long before anyone can expect a decent regular adsense income from their new websites/blogs? Last edited by deepak2512; 04-28-2007 at 02:08 AM. |

Well some sites take on a viral effect in regards to their marketing where word of mouth is their primary source of traffic. I know someone that started a forum and within 3 months had 4,000 unique visitors a day and only 4% of that traffic came from search engines...
Alternatively I have seen someone take one site from sratch to earning $50+/day within 3 months becaue of thier great content more so than anything. That said they just applied osme basic SEO techniques and continued to build the content of the site starting out with just traffic deom MSN which soon increased to Yahoo so that by the time Google started ranking them their site was quite comprehensive and receieved over 1,500 unique visitors everday! At $1/day within your first month I wouldn't be too worried that's quite good in my opinion, and if you continue building your content and improving your SEO then you will no doubt see greater success over the coming months when Yahoo and Google start ranking your sites more. Stick with it your doing fine, there aren't any real shortcuts.

It's not something you can really predict.
You just have to keep doing all the right stuff in all the right areas. Eventually something will give. It's easy for others to see what you're doing wrong... or some cases, not quite right. But it's next to impossible to give solid advice that if followed by the letter will work. Sometimes people can figure it out, but there will be the odd case that they could have 49 sites doing really well and the 50th hasn't been approached any differently but it's not firing on all cylinders. Trial, error and experimentation. then hopefully you can get into your own adsense groove.

Thanks for the replies.
But I just calculated the earnings have infact dropped a bit in last 6-7 days, The clickthrough rate has dropped without any serious changes to the ads or their formats. Anyways I hope it will rise again. Last edited by deepak2512; 04-28-2007 at 02:14 AM. |

If you want quick earnings (equals quick traffic) then buy it

The trouble with Adsense is that despite what people say, the levels of earning are beyond your control.
The revenue you earn from an ad depends on several factors, the majority of which are beyond your control. We all hear about the massive amounts certain keywords are generating but unless you get your placements just correct, the amount of advertising per page just so and the keywords that adsense feel would suit your page (this is not necessarily what you have set your page up to deliver) and finally, the clicks generated from a Territory that adsense has an Advertisor that wants to promote to then you are screwed. I guess I am being fairly jaundiced at the moment as looking at like for like figures, the start of June compared to May has seen a drop of 70% in income generated. The sites haven't changed it is just the external factors. It could be that inventory is low for our types of sites, the start of a new Advertising period / quarter and (more importantly) the major Algorithm change at MSN that has meant that the majority of our traffic is not originating from our high net worth markets. Either way, there are so many factors beyond your control that I take my hat off to anyone that has legitimately managed to create a serious income from Adsense. Despite their claims there aren't too many of those around. |

Set yourself the goal of 3$ a day for the end of this month, if you can keep this average for a month it's bout 100$ so enough to receive a check every month, that should be your minimum aim.

As a matter of fact to see trends you'd of course need at least 12 months of stats. Because factors such as seasonal weather effect it too. Also public holidays. If there's a public holiday, expect a drop. You may think that 'hey, people are home from work, it'll go up!' but it won't. I think that some may spend the day on the net if they don't have the net at work, but for the most part you will find that most of the people who surf the net will take the day off and spend time with family.

Hi Deepak
You'll more than likely find that the people who are earning a lot of AdSense revenue as soon as they sign up are probably adding AdSense to an already established site whith high traffic. If you've just created a new site and want "instant traffic" while waiting for the search engines to list it, my suggestion would be to write an article. This is currently my favourite method of "instant traffic". I write a 500-600 word article and submit it to 5 or 6 of my favourite article sites (along with a link back to my site, of course). Two of the sites that I use will instantly put the article live on their site and one will put it right on the front page for a short amount of time. From that moment I already have a potential stream of traffic to my site. The popular article sites also get spidered by the search engines regularly so it's not long before your article (and your link back) are listed. The link back then obviously gives the spiders a route to your site and help your page rank. Provided that your article is relevent to your site's content, the traffic that it brings in will be highly targetted and much more likely to earn you AdSense clicks. On a side note, I've also found that nearly 100% of visitors who come to my site via one of my articles sign up for my mailing list. I can only assume that this is because they've read an example of my writing and are impressed with what they've read. This means that I can earn from my articles both through AdSense clicks and through my mailing list. Really, a well written article is one of the most powerful marketing tools on the net as not only does it bring in highly targetted visitors, but it also gains the trust of those visitors and makes them receptive to you and your ideas. I hope this helps. Best Regards |
