Thumbs up Looking for a New Moderator...

Well,

This is an amazing offer for one (or a couple) of you fine folks to help Joel out with this forum. Let me explain...

I joined adsensechat.com back last year on August 22... wow - how time flies! I was so very fortunate to be asked by Joel to help out on this new forum. I explained that I had no experience - but I'd do the best I could. He suggested I become the "Welcome Committee". I've enjoyed very much welcoming new members to this forum... perhaps I even welcomed you when you joined?

Anyway, in this last year my AdSense income has grown very nicely indeed. But, also, my online family business has really taken off - especially in the last 6 months!

That is so cool... but it's SO Much work to keep up with and continue to grow my own business.

So, I contacted Joel this morning and informed him that I'll no longer be able to keep up with my daily responsibilities here at adsensechat.com. There simply is not enough time for me at this point in my business growth. I will, however, continue to "pop" in from time to time to keep up with the newest tips and strategies... that's just smart business!

At any rate, Joel asked if I'd make this post looking for one or two of you to become a moderator of this forum. If you're like me - JUMP AT THIS OPPORTUNITY! It is so fulfilling to be an integral part of this fabulous community. So, here's how we're going about it...

Any of you who would like to be considered for the position as a moderator, please post a thoughtful post in this thread. Explain why you would like to be considered for the position, and what you have to offer this community.

This is not a "win the moderator" contest... so please don't respond unless you honestly want to serve this community and help it grow and prosper. It is an important responsibility - and it shouldn't be taken lightly.

As a moderator, it will be very important that you make our new members feel a warm welcome - and perhaps even suggest a post or two that they might enjoy reading. It will also be your responsibility to keep your eyes open for those who would come here to abuse our community by shameless self-promotion within their posts... or outright SPAM. That will be a daily duty... but don't use it as a "power trip".

We will continue to accept "applications" (those of you who reply to this post) until August 28. At that time I'll close this thread to posting, and Joel will make the final decision as to who he wants to help him in this endeavor.

Remember, make your post count... you will be judged according to what you say, how you say it, and also your past posts. Obviously, we're looking for team players who play nicely with others... Is that YOU?

The reason I decided to make this an open application viewable to everyone is simply because all of us want to know what we can expect of our new moderator(s). Once you go on the record, we can all hold you accountable to help lead us in this forum.

So... here we go... I'm excited to see who is chosen!

Default Thanks Mark!

A HUGE thank you to Mark for all his hard work this past year... he has done a fantastic job! APPLAUSE!

On this topic, I am open to having more than one person do this task. I believe we can have 2-3 moderators (although Mark did the work of FIVE!)

Looking forward to welcoming the new crew :-)

I'll put up my hand to express my interest in the position.

Next month will be my one year adsensechat anniversary!

I've made quite a few people feel welcome (though my efforts have not been as prolific as Mark's ). I also admit to making a number of people feel not so welcome. But they're the type of people who have little to add in the way of quality feedback. I'm diplomatic and give the benefit of the doubt but if a person gives little doubt that they're a spammer or a scammer then I'll treat them as such.

I think every forum needs an enforcer

While I am new to this forum and to AdSense as a whole, I believe that I am quickly picking things up and would be interested in participating as a moderator for the forums.

As a newcomer, I believe that I will be able to offer a perspective to other people that are relatively new to AdSense and help them get acclimated. In addition, I believe that I have the ability to be a welcoming influence for new forum members as well as provide quality feedback to all forum members.

With the opportunity to be a moderator, I believe that I will have a personal benefit from being more involved and learning even more. With that knowledge, I would then be a position to continue sharing information and assist with keeping the forums a positive place for others to share and learn.

Default I would love the opportunity

Hello Everyone,
My name is Amy and I am a mom an Internet business owner of two years and an Interactive Media Design student at the Art Institute On line. I would love the opportunity to moderate for this great community. I would describe my self as technical with lots of people skills, I am a good communicator and sensitive but objective when it comes to dealing with people. I can also get the job done regardless of what it is. I am a multitasker and thrive on being busy. My main interest and objectives include writing web content, I love to write and have since I was a little girl writing short stories, I also have a love for design and problem solving. In my past life I was an educator at a trade school and feel this will be helpful in this position. Thank you for your consideration and inclusion in this great community.

Cool Having thought long and hard

Having thought long and hard about this, I would be happy to stand alongside 'reprobate' as a moderator. I would be the 'Simon Cowell' (aka Pop idol/ American idol) of the bunch - No bull given, none taken. As ever short and to the point. Sorry to see Mark P-R stand down

I guess other then expressing an interest in being a moderator I better tell you a bit about myself...

I'm always learning. Though I started playing with HTML back in 1998, it wasn't until 2000 that I made a site I was proud of and I still update to this day. Early 2005 I implemented Adsense ads into it. I can honestly say it's not a 'made for adsense' website.

2000 was also the year I took on a full time course in Digital Arts & Media majoring in web design. By half way through the year I had impressed enough people I was asked to teach web design in the second semester at another campus. I was a student four days a week and thankfully we had Fridays off. Fridays I would teach. I had no formal teaching qualifications, and the head teacher knew this, but wanted me regardless.

After that I got work as a freelance webdesigner and having worked on a contract basis for a while with a web development company.

I no longer work freelance as a web designer. I do on occasion do websites for businesses, but usually because I know the owner and it's as a favour. It's like a barter deal, I also get something out of it.

Nowdays my biggest web design client is myself. Which is great, I don't have to educate the client, or negotiate with the client. But the client is notoriously tight with funds so there's no gifts of appreciation or long lunches.

In the last few years I've been working as a Graphic Designer. In a very narrow field. I took a year and a half off because of family commitments but as of two months ago I'm back doing 3 days a week. They needed me so now I get paid the same for 3 days as I used to doing 5 days a week. So I must be pretty good at what I do.

I have a lot of creative interest and pursuits: art, music, reading, writing, photography, filmmaking... so i'm never short of an idea.
