Foudn another AdBlock blocking script at http://xooit.xooit.com/index.php (in the code, not on the site). It's...
Code:
<img src="/http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js" lowsrc="/http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js" alt="adblocktest" id="adblocktest" style="visibility:visible;position:static;display:inline;" width="0" height="0" border="0" />
</div>
<script type="text/javascript">
function adblockblock() {
var div=document.getElementById('adblocktest_div');
div.style.visibility='visible';
div.style.width='100%';
div.innerHTML='Vous vivez dans un monde sans publicité. Dans ce monde ce site n\'a pas les moyens d\'exister.';
if(!document.all){
div.style.position='fixed';
div.style.left='0px';
div.style.top='0px';
}
}
function testimageload() {
var testimage = new Image;
testimage.src='/http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js';
return testimage.width;
}
function adblocktest(testnumber) {
var abbitem=document.getElementById('adblocktest');
if(abbitem){var abbstyle=abbitem.style;}
//test for blockers that delete ads objects (firefox adblock in some configurations)
if(!abbitem){
adblockblock();
//test for blockers that use style to hide ads (firefox adblock, maxthon)
} else if (abbstyle.display != 'inline' | abbstyle.visibility != 'visible' | abbstyle.position != 'static'){
adblockblock();
//test for blockers that replace ads by an image at load time (konqueror)
//on konqueror, image width is actualy 64px
} else if (testimageload() == 64) {
adblockblock();
//Schedule an other test for blockers that wait some time before blocking ads (maxthon)
} else if (testnumber!=1){
setTimeout(function(){adblocktest(1);},4000);
}
}
function doadblocktest(){
if(adblocktest_orig_onload){adblocktest_orig_onload();}
setTimeout(adblocktest,1000);
}
adblocktest_orig_onload=window.onload?window.onload:false;
window.onload=doadblocktest;
</script>
The most common AdBlock filter is revised frequently, so I beleive I can create a php generated javascript that will locate a current filter and use it to block AdBlock users, so even if they change the filter, they'll still be blocked. |

Okay, the definitive script...
Code:
<script>
function dieAdBlockPlusDie()
{
var giframe = document.getElementsByTagName("iframe");
var blocked=1;
for (var i = 0; i < giframe.length; i++)
{
var name = giframe[i].getAttribute("name");
if(name == "google_ads_frame")
{
var blocked=0;
}
}
if(blocked){window.location = 'http://articlewagon.com/thief.htm';}
}
setTimeout('dieAdBlockPlusDie()', 2000);
</script>

A rule for programmers might be not to piss of your customers. I'm NEVER giving you traffic, mate.
It is not stealing, I have a right to what I view, if I don't want to view your ****ty adverts then I don't have to. You call us thieves? How is not viewing something thiefing. I know of several ways to work around your little code. I hope someone with the time to code them does. For now, my twisted friend, I hope you enjoy the hate mail you deservedly get. |

It's hardly thieving when I tell them the method, and ask them for it.
I could accuse you of breaching my privacy, for putting your crappy adverts on my screen, but I'm not. Let's leave it as this - You're a cock. I'd also like you to know that I actually didn't have adblock plus installed until I saw your ridiculous campaign. I do now, and it's staying on my PC. |

Some of you may wonder why I'm going so far with this. Since I've been posting on this board I've been overwhelmed woth the integrity and honesty shown by most here toward using AdSense to earn money. The emphasis and focus has been on quality content as the source of increased revenues from ads. Get rich gimmicks and methods of getting revenues by tricking people are rejected and called what they are--scams.
So when I find that a large number of people are selfishly blocking all ads while using the resources of honest people, it makes me mad. When I find that the people who provide the plug-in most responsible for that theft is actively preventing web site owners who want to block those theives, it makes me madder still. The AdBlock Plus plus-in itself has been updated to specifically bypass the script I wrote to block ABP users. Meanwhile FireFox and mozilla not only allow this, but endorse it. I am in the process of blocking all FireFox users from my sites (FireFix users who use IE Tab can still access it sicne IE Tab disables the ad block plug-in). FireFox is only about 13% of web users and last August was only 10% so their market share is not growing very fast. While some may feel blocking FireFox users would hurt them financially (I'm not convicned that it really would) by creating a ground swell of sites that block FireFox for enabling internet theft there's a good chance they may force the crook who distribute Ad Block Plus to stop defying site owners who want to block those blocking ads. This next week will tell what impact blocking FireFox will have on my revenues. However the long term impact of using market forces to stop FireFox from endorsing theft is well worth a small, short term loss. |

You are sitting with javascript and maybe a bit php, and talk about not "pissing of the programmers". Before you try to lecture us, you might want to think about it yourself. "It checks for the presence of an iframe named "google_ads_frame". If it's not there, then the thief is tossed over to the "remove Ad Block Plus" page. They can't get around that script without whitelisting google adsense." That is partially true, except the important part ( for you ), the "They can't get around that script without whitelisting google adsense.", anything you do with javascript or other clientside scripts will be just as easy to get around with dare i say it... Yes, ANOTHER extension which easily can intercept all your javascript or whatsoever and change it on the fly or just disable your anti-adblock functions. Personally, i am very much against ads. But dont get me wrong, i dont "take this up" to fight you, i just enjoy a challenge. Hope it will be worth it. //Ronin [Edit] Ah, sorry, forgot to link to the mentioned extension ( even tho i assume most know it ). https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/748 Last edited by Ronin; 08-05-2007 at 02:25 PM. Rhodri poor little whiner, get lost. I don't use adblock or the anti adblock script, but if you're not happy with the advertisements then you shouldn't have to view my sites, because honestly if it wasn't for the advertisement I wouldn't have so many sites and you're not the kind of persons (when adblock plus is activated) that I want on my site. I'm not going to block firefox users either because I'm all for firefox which I use exclusively.
If I could make a script against all those persons who will not click on my ads, based on demographic or personal clicking history on other sites, I would do it! Call me twisted, but that's the truth, I don't care about who view my sites, I'm not a public service organisation!
